Crafting the Freshancy Face Powder Commercial Using Green Screen Production

Freshancy is a premium skincare brand offering products that blend natural ingredients with modern skincare science. Their face powder line is marketed as a daily-use product that delivers a soft, breathable finish with long-lasting freshness. For this campaign, Freshancy aimed to elevate its visual identity and promote the product with a fresh, dreamy, and elegant commercial video.

Project Objective

The objective was to create a 30-second brand film for Freshancy’s face powder using a green screen studio setup. The video needed to emphasize the product’s lightweight texture and nature-derived ingredients while keeping the visuals graceful, modern, and minimalistic. The ad was intended for TV and digital platforms, and had to include model interaction, floating elements, and ethereal transitions — all executed indoors for creative flexibility and quick turnaround.

Challenges Faced

The key challenge was replicating a light, airy, and dreamy world that could visually express softness and purity — without physical sets or outdoor locations. The team had to create floral backgrounds, floating powder textures, and silk-fabric effects entirely through green screen for VFX and compositing. Additionally, working with fine cosmetic powder particles posed challenges for cleanup, lighting control, and matte edge retention during chroma keying. Skin tones and product texture had to remain natural despite complex post-processing.

Execution

We constructed a seamless chroma studio for video production with a cyclorama green screen setup to allow 360-degree camera movement and freedom for the model to interact naturally. A high-speed camera (120 fps) captured slow-motion shots of powder application and movement, contributing to the ad’s smooth and serene aesthetic.

To simulate natural lighting, overhead softboxes and side LED panels were used to achieve diffused highlights with minimal shadowing. RGB edge lighting was introduced to add ambient hues aligned with each virtual background. Lighting was carefully calibrated to preserve accurate skin tones and the delicate finish of the powder.

Using tools like Cinema 4D and After Effects, the team created VFX layers including floating petals, silk drapery, and translucent powder clouds. These elements were matched to the model’s motion using tracked camera data. The concept of green screen for virtual production enabled us to transition between scenes—a serene meadow, an abstract beauty space, and a branded pink glow—without changing location.

Pack shots were filmed on a motorized platform and enhanced with light bursts, sparkle overlays, and subtle depth-of-field blurs. Post-production included gentle color grading and minimal skin retouching to retain authenticity.

Results Achieved

The final film elegantly captured the product’s softness and natural allure.
